TL;DR Brands: Creator Terms

Version 1.2. Last updated 25 August 2026.

These terms cover how we work together when you create content for TL;DR Brands and our clients. You agree to them once when you join TL;DR Creators. They stay the same for every project. Only the fee changes, and the fee for each brief is always shown to you before you apply and accept.

By ticking "I agree to the Creator Terms" on the application form, you confirm you have read and accepted the terms below.

1. Who we are

TL;DR Brands ("we", "us") is a marketing agency. We cast creators from TL;DR Creators, our own creator marketplace, to make user-generated content ("content") for our clients. You ("the creator") join as an independent creator, not an employee.

2. How work is offered

  • Work is offered brief by brief. You are never obliged to accept a brief, and we are never obliged to offer you one.
  • Every brief shows the fee, the deadline, the posting requirement (paid UGC only, or posting to your own channels), and any partnership ad ask, before you accept.
  • Accepting a brief creates a booking. The booking is the agreement for that specific piece of work.

3. The content you deliver

  • You deliver original content made by you, to the brief, in the format and spec requested.
  • You confirm the content is your own work and does not infringe anyone else's rights (music, footage, trademarks, or the rights of any person who appears in it).
  • You deliver final files to the booking, at full quality. Please do not send content over WhatsApp, email, or any channel that compresses video.

4. Turnaround and amends

  • Order the product within 24 hours of accepting the brief (see fulfilment below).
  • Deliver the content within 5 days of ordering.
  • Two rounds of amends are included per video, each turned around within 2 days of receiving notes.

5. Rights and usage

  • On full payment, you grant TL;DR Brands and the named client **full usage** of the content: the right to use, edit and publish it, with no time limit, across organic and paid channels for that client. This is included in the standard fee for every brief and is not charged as an extra.
  • What is charged extra are the two things that go beyond the content itself, and both are optional, asked per brief, and priced before you accept:

- **Posting to your own socials.** You put the video out on your own channel.

- **Partnership ad.** We run the video as a paid ad from your handle (a partnership or whitelisted ad) on Meta, for 90 days from the date it goes live. You keep the post, we cover the ad spend.

  • Unless a brief says otherwise, our client usage is Meta only. We will tell you in the brief if a client also needs TikTok.
  • You keep the right to feature the content in your own portfolio unless a brief says otherwise.

5a. Gifted product (seeding)

Some offers in the app are marked as **seeding**. These work differently from a paid brief, and the difference is deliberate:

  • **There is no fee**, in either direction. The product is a gift and it is yours to keep.
  • **You are not obliged to post anything.** Taking a gifted product creates no deliverable, no deadline and no amends. Saying no, or saying nothing afterwards, has no effect on the paid briefs you are offered.
  • **Section 5 does not apply.** Gifted product grants us no usage rights over your content.
  • **If you do post about it**, we may reshare that post on the brand's own organic channels (for example resharing your Instagram story or reposting on the brand's TikTok). That is the only use we make of it.
  • **We will never run gifted content as a paid ad.** If we want to use something you posted in paid advertising, or as a partnership ad from your handle, we come to you first and agree a fee, exactly as we would for any paid brief.
  • **You must still follow the advertising rules.** Where the law or the platform requires gifted content to be marked as a gift or as an ad, that is on you to do, as set out in section 8.

6. Payment

  • The fee is fixed and confirmed when the brief is approved.
  • Once your content is signed off, you invoice us (or we self-bill you, whichever we agree).
  • We pay all creators on the last working day of the month. This is our standard pay date for everyone.
  • Payment status moves Approved, then Invoiced, then Paid, and you can see it on your booking.

7. Product fulfilment

  • For most briefs we send a 100% off discount code so you order the exact product free.
  • Where a client prefers it, we ship the product to you directly instead.
  • Product sent for a brief is provided for the purpose of making the content.

8. Conduct

  • Represent the client and the brand fairly and honestly in the content.
  • Follow the platform rules and advertising rules that apply (including clearly marking paid or gifted content where required by law).
  • Keep brief details, client names, and creative direction confidential. Do not share briefs outside TL;DR Creators.
  • Keep brand relationships you build here on the platform. If a brand you met through TL;DR Creators wants to keep working with you, that work runs through the platform, where you are covered by the terms and paid on the monthly run. Going direct with a platform brand while you are both active here means we remove you from TL;DR Creators, so you lose access to every future brief. This does not apply to a brand you already worked with before you met them here: if you had the relationship first, it stays yours.

9. Your data

  • We store your contact details, handles, demographic and niche information, work samples, and payment details on TL;DR Creators so we can cast and pay you.
  • We use this only to run TL;DR Creators and offer you work. We do not sell it.
  • You can ask us to update or remove your data at any time by contacting us.

10. Ending the relationship

  • Either of us can step away at any time. Any booking already accepted is honoured through to payment.

11. Referrals

  • If you refer a creator we go on to approve, we pay you a referral bonus. Ask us for the current amount.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms: reply to any brief thread, or email the TL;DR Brands team.

These terms are a plain-English working agreement for TL;DR Creators, not a substitute for a full contract on larger or exclusive engagements. TL;DR Brands may update them; the current version and date are shown at the top.
